Sheep Parade
The sheep parade is the main event for the annual Cedar Livestock Heritage Festival. The sheep parade is on Saturday, October 26 at 10:00 AM on Main Street in Cedar City. The parade is filled with antique tractors, horses, youth groups, sheep camps, and approximately 1,000 sheep will be herded through the parade down Main Street. This parade is an exciting event that you won’t want to miss!
Antique Tractor and Draft Horse Pull
On October 25 and 26 (at the Cross Hollows Events Center), there will be a multitude of tractor pull events and draft horse pull events. On October 25, the antique tractor and machinery show/demos will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and the draft horse show and demo will be from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. On October 26, the CCAMA kid’s pedal tractor pull will be at 12:30 PM and the antique tractor show (pull and draft horse pull) will take place from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
Dutch Oven Tasting
Enjoy a variety of dutch oven meals by attending the dutch oven tasting event at the Cross Hollows Events Center Diamond Z Arena. Tickets for dutch oven tasting are only $5.00 and can be purchased at the Utah Wool Growers education trailer near the sheep camps (at the Cross Hollows Events Center). Enjoy delicious dutch oven dishes while learning about the fascinating history of dutch oven cooking. The dutch oven tasting event is on October 26 starting at 12:30 PM.
Cowboy Poetry and Music
Cowboy and cowgirl poets and musicians will be performing at the Diamond Z Arena (at the Cross Hollows Events Center) on October 25 and 26. Come on out to enjoy some great music by bands like Coyote Bluegrass, Fall River Boys, and Saddle Strings and enjoy poetry by poets such as Russ Westwood, Sam DeLeeuw, Bill Smith, and more!
Cars, Quilts, and Hands On Activities
The annual quilt show will take place at the Cedar City Heritage Theater lobby and will feature beautiful quilts displayed by members of the Cedar Chest Quilters Guild. For those of you who love old cars, the vintage car display will be open to the community on Saturday, October 26 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cross Hollows Events Center.
If you’re interested in learning more about the wild west, the Frontier Homestead State Park Museum will be at the Diamond Z Arena to offer hands-on activities where you can learn how to make your own rope, learn how to rope a cow, learn how to become a master of classic games like double ball and marbles, and more. These fun and educational activities are a blast for both kids and adults! The Frontier Homestead State Park Museum will be at the Diamond Z Arena on October 26 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
